KitchenAid KPRA Pasta Attachment Set
If you like the idea of making your own pasta at home, and you already have a Kitchenaid Stand mixer, the Kitchenaid KPRA pasta attachment set is worth taking a look at. Having purchased a stand mixer in the last year, I’ve recently started looking at various attachments that they have available.

The first thing that stands out about the Kitchenaid KPRA attachments is their weight. Like many of the manual pasta makers on the market it is made from stainless steel. They feel as though they will last a lifetime. Because they are made from stainless steel, you’ll want to be careful how you clean and store them. Included in the set is a wooden brush and toothpicks for removing any leftover dough when you’ve finished making your homemade pasta.
Installing and removing each attachment is accomplished by screwing the particular attachment to the top section of the stand mixer. Then simply turn on the mixer. At that point you can feed the dough into the pasta roller, or feed the sheet pasta into the cutters. Having a pasta drying rack will make this process MUCH easier. I would highly recommend investing in one before attempting to make homemade pasta as the dough tends to want to clump up otherwise.
If you’ve never had homemade pasta you are in for a real treat. The stuff out of the box, and even the “fresh” pasta in the cold section at your grocery store just can’t compare to the taste of fresh homemade pasta. In addition you can tinker around with the thickness using the rolling attachment. This allows you to make the pasta as thin and delicate as you like. If you already have a Kitchenaid stand mixer, it’s worth the extra investment to get the Kitchenaid KPRA attachments.
